The Award encourages excellence within the Australian fashion industry, acknowledging designers in their first five years of business who excel in the following: creative design, fashion innovation, high quality manufacturing standards, unique style and the potential to contribute to the future growth of the Australian fashion industry. Past winners of the Award include Toni Maticevski, Josh Goot, Yeojin Bae, Romance Was Born, Dion Lee and in 2011, Song for the Mute.
